With over 25 years of professional equestrian experience in training Hunter/Jumper horses and ponies, Ashley also has a proven record of developing successful equestrians who not only ride exceptionally well but demonstrate top notch horsemanship. Many of her clients go on to compete nationally and earn distinguished show records that afford them opportunities to ride at the collegiate level for some of the top-rated Division I Equestrian Teams.
Additionally, many of her students have successfully qualified, and won on an annual basis at some of the most prestigious horse shows across the United States. Central to Ashley’s success in the equestrian world of professional training and instruction is her ability to develop productive working relationships with clients. She has an expansive network of long-standing relationships and collaborative partnerships with top trainers all over the country. Additionally, she has extensive experience training and selling horses many of which she imports from Europe.
Working at Westminster Farm is just one of Ashley’s numerous passions. When she is not at the barn or working a horse show, you can find this University of Alabama graduate cheering on the TIDE with her family and her 8 dogs. You will be hard-pressed to find Ashley without a gaggle of four-legged friends! She also loves teaching and spending time with her daughter at horse shows as well as watching her two boys play soccer and basketball.

Emmie grew up on a farm as a child and has many years of experience related to basic equine medical care, rehabbing injuries, nutrition, barn management, and day-to-day facility operations. Additionally, she has a wealth of knowledge and experience competing in the American Quarter Horse Association’s (AQHA) All Around events which include Horsemanship, Western pleasure, Equitation, Hunter Under Saddle, and trail and ranch riding. She also competed for the UA’s Western Equestrian team and presently, offers her coaching abilities to the University of Alabama’s Equestrian Club--—both the Western and Hunt Seat Teams. Additionally, she has experience with therapeutic riding programs and teaches lessons to several children with identified disabilities. Finally, you will not see Emmie at the barn without her two furry canines— Scout, a mini–Australian shepard and Radley, a French bulldog— both loyal and devoted companions.


Brenna Ledbetter

Brenna is a professional rider and an assistant trainer at Westminster Farm. A native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Brenna began her love of riding at Westminster under the tutelage of Ashley. Over the past 10 years, she has shown across multiple hunter, equitation, and jumper divisions. She has competed successfully in Junior Hunter Finals, Big Eq and on the indoor circuit. Brenna especially enjoys training and working with young horses, including her recent imported grey gelding, Callan. Brenna is a lead trainer and instructor for those riders who compete on the local Hunter/Jumper show circuit organized by the Alabama Hunter Jumper Association (AHJA). Presently, she attends the University of Alabama and is working toward a degree in criminal justice and criminology. Darcy, her miniature Schnauzer is her side-kick.

Taelor has worked at Westminster Farm for over 3 years. Originally from North Alabama, Taelor came to Tuscaloosa to attend The University of Alabama (UA). Her time at Westminster began when she rode for the UA’s Equestrian Team while a student. After graduating from UA, while pursuing her master’s degree, Taelor began teaching lessons part time to beginner riders. Her instruction focuses on developing skills needed to support a strong foundation in the hunt seat discipline and basic equine care and horsemanship. She is an avid animal lover and is committed to the well-being of all animals. In fact, this passion began in high school when she found work at an equine rescue facility, and she continues these efforts today. With over 15 years of riding experience, Taelor’s commitment to her students is also noteworthy. She is incredibly devoted to her students even attending their school related activities or events outside of riding horses. When Taelor is not teaching lessons at Westminster or classes for the School of Engineering at UA, you can find her with Wren, a Brittnay Spaniel or perhaps on an adventure traveling across Australia or Ireland.

Catherine is a lesson program instructor at Westminster Farm who teaches beginner riders. She is originally from Atlanta, Georgia but has lived in Tuscaloosa the last eight years with her husband and three kids. She has over 40 years of experience riding across multiple disciplines—Hunters, Dressage, and Show Jumping. Catherine’s instruction emphasizes foundational skills to beginning riders’ overall riding stamina and foundational skills essential to the hunt seat discipline, flat work, cross-poles, short-stirrup skills, and basic equine care. Her care and attention to students’ understanding and demonstration of skills related to riding is a strength. Through engaging instructional methods, Catherine engages and motivates her students which in turn is good for lesson horses. In addition to her work with beginner riders at Westminster, she enjoys spending time with Louis, her own horse and the family’s three dogs. If Catherine is not at the barn or showing one of her listings in the Tuscaloosa area, you might find her out for a run at Sokol park.


Julianne Coleman

Originally from Virginia, Julianne moved too Tuscaloosa in 2006 to work as an Assistant Professor in the College of Education at The University of Alabama. She grew up riding pony hunters as a child and rode competitively. After a long hiatus from riding, she started taking lessons as an adult at Westminster Farm in 2020. Now, she competes at both the local and rated shows in the Adult Hunter division. Julianne's primary responsibilities are the management of the farm's finances such as billing and payroll. When Julianne is not riding and working at Westminster Farm, you will find her teaching undergraduates and graduate students about literacy instruction. She also loves to spend time out West hiking, visiting her family in Virginia and loving on her many animals.
